Long Bench Cushion

Hey everyone!

This is a bench cushion I sewed for my Aunt and Uncle's little nook in their dining room. They provided me with the materials, and with a little coaching from my dad (because this was my first time handling piping) I think I totally pulled it off. The whole shell is lined with iron-in interfacing, and there's a long zipper along the back to make it easier for washing, or to change it should they redecorate. You'll probably notice from the pictures that the cushion is shorter than the actual bench space, that was planned, they want to put some small shelves on either side. 

Now to make the decorative pillows! Enjoy!

Sunshine Wreath

Hey everyone!

So with this recent change in the weather, I decided I needed a new wreath. My old one was Christmasy so I decided to make one to welcome this nice and beautiful weather! 

I decided I'd make the whole thing with ingredients I already had at home, and since I didn't have a foam wreath to start with, I cut this one out of a sheet of cardboard, hence it is so flat. I like how it hangs though, it doesn't stick out too far. I wrapped a 3rd of the cardboard with yellow yarn. I then took two long pieces of a lighter shade of yellow yarn, and a long strip of tulle, and braided them together, then wrapped it decoratively. The flowery part is just made of circles of felt and tulle that I cut at 2" then folded/scrunched and glued on with hot glue.

Embossed Mother's Day Card

Hey everyone!

So this card is for a few blog challenges. Mary's Cricut Cardz Challenge over at Cardz TV and also Fantabulous Cricut, both have a mother's day card challenge this week and over at Sprinkled With Glitter, the challenge is create ANY type of project using ANY type of embossing. This is my first time trying out a Sprinkled With Glitter challenge so it should be fun.

I have the tools to both heat embossing and dry embossing, but I really love how heat embossing looks. I really don't do it often enough. I tried stamping the flourish in several different positions but in the end this was definitely my favourite take.
