Pink Wishes Card

Hey everyone!

Here is my entry for this weeks Cricut Cutz Challenge.

Challenge: Think Pink

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and this challenge is to help promote this worthy cause. I made this card for my Aunt for her birthday. We had a big family get together this past weekend as a farewell to my Oma who is heading back to Indonesia (and there are many birthdays in my family this month, so I had many cards to make!)

Fall Colours Birthday Card

Hey everyone!

So it's time for this week's Scrapmaster's Paradise Colour Combo Challenge entry.

Swatch:

My dad's best friend is an outdoorsy kinda guy and his birthday is coming up so this card is for him. Wanted to use some stamps and I like how it turned out. Nice and simple.

It's time for this weeks Cricut Cardz Challenge!

Challenge: Use an owl.

Tangerine Cat Card

Hey everyone!

So I always have excuses why I don't get more cards made in a week but like I said in my previous post, I don't know where the time goes! I always feel so busy but it's not like I'm getting anything done :P That's not true. I spent a good chunk of the day yesterday fixing up my bicycle (now I have transportation when my hubby's at school!) My husband is also back at school (like most of your children :P) equally as stressful as relieving, you know? I've also taken up Kung Fu twice a week so that's exciting! Anywho! Lets get on to this weeks Scrapmaster's Paradise Colour Combo Challenge!

This weeks swatch:

I loved this combo. I wanted to do something for fall but that seemed too obvious :P Wanted to keep it simple, so here you go. I really don't have that good of lighting, the pictures never seem to do the colours justice. Oh well, all the colour in the background is red. Looks much better in person :P Enjoy.

Paisley Owl Card

Hey everyone!

Yikes! I honestly don't know where the time goes! I guess time flies when you're having fun. It's time for this weeks Simply Sunday Challenge from Getting Cricky.

Challenge: Winged Things

I decided I would use one of my new Cricut cartridge: Paisley! It is absolutely adorable and I couldn't wait to cut something with it! Well, here is my winged thing.

Blue Bird Buzzer Cover

Hey everyone!

I figured I would post another card before the weekend since it's gonna be crazy, so I guess it's time for this week's Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo Challenges entry.

So we have this INCREDIBLY ugly buzzer by our front door (it's like half painted and the directions are written on it in sharpie, it's gross) that I covered up with a drawing I did of a pug when we first moved in. Well, just a few days ago the pug fell down, so I decided to replace it. With a blue bird!

Red Card With Stars

Hey everyone!

So if you don't want to hear my excuses for this week then you can just skip ahead :P Ummm, where do I even start? Of course I went to my parents one last time before my mom is back to school, the Toronto FanExpo was this past weekend, went to Wonderland on Wednesday and today my husband had his first day of teachers college! Yay! Well it was a mandatory registration/orientation but he had to go all the way to London for it. And tomorrow too. He's trying to make the transition from working nights to SLEEPING at night now that school is starting back up. It'll take him a few days to switch back so he's been sleepy. I've just been busy, as usual. Hopefully my schedule will get a little more boring after labour day. Have a wedding, a family corn roast and a funeral, with LOTS of driving in between this weekend. Should be crazy.

Anywho! I'm awful close to the cut off for this weeks Paper Cutz Challenge but I'm just sneaking it in at the very, very last minute :P

Challenge: Use stars and any colour or theme you'd like.

Easy enough to whip it up in an hour or so. It is pretty simple and flat but I kinda like it like that. Haven't quite decided what I'll use it for yet but I can fit a little "Happy Birthday" or even "Merry Christmas" down the left side there.

A+ Back To School Card

Hey everyone!

So this weekend has been a little busy but it doesn't feel like things ever slow down! Anyway, here is my entry for this weeks Cricut Cardz Challenge.

Challenge: Back to school, the 3 Rs: ribbon, rhinestones, and the colour red.

I actually had a really hard time hunting down an apple among my cartridges but I managed to find one in Designer's Calendar. The only problem was that the apple was too simple and it only had one cut to it and it was on a long branch. So I cut out three red one and one green one and used the leaves off the branch from the green one to makes the stems. Does that make sense? I'm actually proud how well they turned out!

Baby Card

Hey everyone!

So I've decided to try out a new challenge blog (well, new to me!) this week. I like it because it focuses on colours and you all know how much I LOVE colour challenges. So this challenge blog is called Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo Challenges, a mouthful I know, but they have weekly colour challenges and I'm super excited to start doing these too.

So this is the swatch for this weeks challenge:

I have a whole bunch of pink and turquoise but I honestly couldn't find anything I owned that matched that purple so I just used the two colours instead of all three.

Thank You Note Cards

Hey everyone!

So, I think I'm just gonna get right to this weeks Paper Cutz Challenge.

Challenge: Use turquoise, red, white and black ONLY.

I love colour challenges and I actually kind of fell in love with these colours. They're my new favourite right now. I made a set of 6 thank you cards with some red base cards from Michaels I already had.

A Quick Update for This Week

Hey everyone!

I don't know about you, but I've had another busy week. Mostly because Tuesday was my birthday. First of all, we spent the weekend at my aunt's cottage with my Grandpa and my parents and a whole bunch of my aunts, uncles and cousins. It was SO much fun. The food was delicious and we went water tubing everyday, my husband even tried out water skiing for the first time. It was a great weekend. THEN! Monday afternoon, my parents came to visit and took me out for dinner and they spent the night and stayed for breakfast the next day. It was so nice. Then some friends of mine took me out for dinner (I had sizzling fajitas, yummy!) and went to a movie. It was SUCH a great day :)

Yesterday I rearranged some furniture. And by that I mean I turned my desk :P But it changes the feel of my little office/work space immensely! Here are some pictures.

Before

After

I do plan on hanging that bulletin on that big open space on the wall beside my desk there but our walls are solid concrete and I need my hubby's help to hang anything.

Simple Sunflower Thank You Card

Hey everyone!

So I've had a really slow week at work but I still feel like I get so little done when I'm at home. I did make some invitations for a baby shower, a journal and a paper bag scrapbook but challenges are just getting ahead of me! Enough excuses :P here's my entry for this weeks Cricut Cardz Challenge.

Challenge: Make a thank you card using hearts but NO pink or red.

So it wasn't too hard, thank you cards are on my to do list for the next week as it's my birthday on Tuesday so I will need a few to send out! I decided that I would glue two hearts together to make my butterfly wings. I think they're super cute :)

Banana Split Farewell Card

Hey everyone!

So it's been a rough week and a half. My Great-Aunt Helen died last week so the funeral was this past weekend. I had a couple sympathy cards to make and I spent a lot of time at my Grandpa's (Aunt Helen is his sister) but he was fine. He said that she was just tired, she slipped away in her sleep. She had a good long life of 92 years, with children, and grand-children and great-grand-children. She will be missed but she is truly at peace now.

We also had a family reunion on my dad's side. My Oma is back from Indonesia for a few months so we had a little welcome home get together for her. Yes, I made her a card.

This weekend was also a long weekend here so Monday we celebrated my Grandpa's 85th birthday. Of course I made a card for that too, I'll post pictures of all the cards on my Facebook page if you want to check them out.

My husband and I are in the nursery at church and one of our children had her last Sunday in our ward this week. Abby and her family are moving to Connecticut this weekend so there was a nice little farewell for them last night. So what did I do? I made them a card! It just so happens to fit with the Tutti Fruitty theme of this weeks Cricut Cardz Challenge!

Challenge: Make a card using fruit with any cartridge, colour or occasion you like.

Do you know how many fruit puns you can use with farewells? Lots! On the inside it says "We're sad you have to split!" I thought it was cute. It was my husband's idea.

Hey everyone!

I know I've been falling behind on my posts lately, but as it so happens this weeks Cricut Cardz Challenge went hand in hand with a card on my to do list. Couldn't have been more convenient. :)

Thank Ewe Card and You're A Hoot! Card

Hey everyone!

So my last post was my entry for My Pink Stamper's design team call, and I told you that I would post the other cards I made with her inspiring colour challenge. Well, here they are!

My first one here, again, started with the colours. For some reason I decided to pull out ALL my animal stickers and I found one to go on every card. So I guess they all have an animal theme as well. Anywho! This one I was really happy with. It's simple but it still has the little details and I'm really happy with how everything lined up.

My second one I had fun with too. I can't remember what brand the stickers are (I went through a phase where I cut all the tags off the packaging because I didn't like the bulk, but now I can't tell you what brand all the products I used are! Yikes! I've stopped doing that for the very reason that as I use up the old and buy more new I will be able to tell you in the future what products I'm using,) but I'm fairly certain I bought them at Michaels.

Go Wild Card for My Pink Stamper's DT Call

Hey everyone!

So this card is my entry for My Pink Stamper’s design team call. Robyn’s blog was actually the first one that I ever started following and she is a constant source of inspiration for my crafts and even my daily life.

Challenge: Use turquoise, green, orange, brown and other optional colour of your choice.

I had a great time with this challenge, so I ended up making three cards :P. I had such a hard time deciding which one to enter! It came down to a vote and this one won because it’s the only one I made with ALL the colours from the challenge. I’ll post the others later but if you’d like to see them now, you can check them out on my facebook page.

Cards for My Mom's Entire Class

Hey everyone!

Wow. I barely posted last month! Sorry! It's been a crazy couple of weeks. I spent the last week visiting my parents and I had a blast. It was exhausting (it's less like a vacation and more like a volunteer effort :P I get put to work) but I still love every chance I get to spend at my parents. Anyway, my mom is a teacher and she asked me to make a personal card for every child in her class this year so that's what I'll share with you now.

There were 19 kids total. I didn't want to make them too complicated because she wanted so many but I still wanted there to be enough variety that they were all individual.

Special Card for Ginny

Hey everyone!

I have a million excuses why I haven't been posting anything lately, but I'll spare you. Mostly that I've been working A LOT and I've had lots of orders for cards in the last two weeks all to be done by Father's Day! So I've got 2/30 totally finished and 22 more in the making, at least 19 of which will be done by this evening. But it has been crazy! Sorry, less talk more rock! Time for this weeks Paper Cutz Challenge.

Challenge: Use only the colours pink, black and white.

Colour challenges are never too bad. I just wanted to incorporate this challenge into a card already on my to do list. So, my to do list? Well -2 Father's Day Cards, -2 anniversary cards, -2 birthday cards, -a card for every child my mom teaches (19) and one for the EA in her classroom, Ginny -an engagement card, -a thank you card and the list just keeps growing. SO! I decided to make the card for my mom's EA pink, black and white. My mom loves it and can't wait to give it to Ginny. I like it because it's simple. I like making simple cards :P

Dad Banner Card

Hey everyone!

Procrastinating a little again! :P This week's Simply Sunday Challenge over at Getting Cricky closes by midnight tonight!

Challenge: Pennants and banners

I went with the banner part of it, making a Father's Day card for my father-in-law (Evelyn, if you see this please don't show Richard!! :P but seriously.) I have 27 cards on my to do list before Father's Day, so this is one I can cross off! This was a super simple card but it's classy and not too girly to give to your dad :P

Baby Banner Card

Hey everyone!

It's been another long week! I only got one card made this week too for the Paper Cutz Challenge.

Challenge: Make a card or layout using a banner with any colour or theme you'd like.

I was excited, I try and use any excuse to use my new E2 :P and I used a couple of the built in cartridges for this project. I also got a new adhesive. A ZIG 2 way glue pen. I LOVE IT! It's like $2 at Walmart and it's perfect for little pieces.

Hey everyone!

Apologies for my lack of posts, it's been a crazy week again! I did manage to get a card done though for this weeks Paper Cutz Challenge.

Challenge: Teacher appreciation.

I was so excited with this week's challenge! I have has this sticker that I just haven't been able to work into ANYTHING yet and this was PERFECT for it! I didn't use my Cricut for this one at all which I think is actually only my second card I've posted where I didn't use it! Wow!

Graduation Card

Hey everyone!

So this week has been a little crazy. Between being called into work and some sudden family health related events, I've been struggling to find time to finish this card for this weeks Paper Cutz Challenge!

Challenge: Make a card or layout for a graduation using any colours you'd like.

This was actually a tough one for me as I didn't want to just use the graduation cap card from Wild Cards. I Skyped with my dad and he suggested something like the MasterCard campaign with the whole priceless thing. I think it was a good idea! Thanks daddy!

Hello Everyone!

It's true! I have an Expression 2: 5th Anniversary Edition! I love it so much! So this week's Cricut Cardz Challenge is the first project I made on it!

Challenge: A card for a new born baby.

Well! Obviously I had to use one of the built in cartridges on the E2 for it and they are so cute! :P I think I spent at least an hour looking at all the new things I can cut! Ooo! I'm so excited! Well, I had a lot of fun making this card, I love making baby cards so much! (I've posted pictures at the end of my new toy at work!)

Fabulous! Card

Hey everyone!

So this is my first week participating in Kristal's challenge over at Getting Cricky but I'm super excited!

Challenge: Sew Fabulous theme.

I love her challenges because she leaves them up to your interpretation so the entries are never like a batch of cookies :) (all exactly the same!) So the "fabulous" part was easy for me, I used bits and pieces of a dozen of the Paper Dolls Dress Up and Everyday Paper Dolls dolls (:P) and I love how it turned out. The "sew" part was a little more difficult. I ended up using some lace from my grandma's old sewing stash and I figured that would pass :P

Mother-In-Law’s Day Card

Hello everyone!

This is probably my last mother’s day card post of the year :( I love making mother’s day cards but alas, they are so seasonal :P Anywho! It’s time for this week’s Paper Cutz Challenge! (It's really late but I'm hoping since Blogger was down since yesterday afternoon they'll still accept my entry)

Challenge: Mother’s Day Card

I am actually really happy with how this card came out. I made it for my wonderful mother-in-law :) I also convinced my husband to fill it out with more than “From your favourite son and his super-crafty wife” like in her birthday card :P

Pink Ribbon Wreath

Hey everyone!

So, you possibly saw the ribbon wreath I posted a few weeks ago here on my blog. Well, if you liked that wreath, you're in for treat.

This was the first one I ever made. It was for my mom for Christmas and she just loves it. It's actually hanging in their living room right now. :)

I originally wanted to make it purple, lavender and white (purple is my mom's fave colour) but I couldn't find enough variety of coordinating ribbons to my liking. So brown, pink and white had the most that I could spot quickly as my husband was waiting for me :P

I made this wreath with a 12" foam ring. It's smaller than the blue, green and white one in my previous post so it required less ribbon; only 266.5'. Which is 711 pieces of 11 different kinds of ribbon. It took some time because it was my first one, but it is so pretty :)

If you haven't yet, you should check out my other wreath by clicking here!

This is a long overdue post. I made this card for my dear, dear Grandpa before I started this blog. If it wasn't for all his support, I never would have been able to get anywhere with my cards.

Scrabble Mother's Day Card

Hey everyone!

Here is my entry for the latest Cricut Cardz Challenge!

Challenge: A card for mother's day using any colours.

I had a lot of fun making this card. It was commissioned by my wonderful aunt :) for her mommy. I set it up so that if it where on a real Scrabble board, and the F was on the center square, this is what it would look like. And yes, all the letter values are correct. That's the first thing my aunt checked :P
