Sunshine Wreath

Hey everyone!

So with this recent change in the weather, I decided I needed a new wreath. My old one was Christmasy so I decided to make one to welcome this nice and beautiful weather!

I decided I'd make the whole thing with ingredients I already had at home, and since I didn't have a foam wreath to start with, I cut this one out of a sheet of cardboard, hence it is so flat. I like how it hangs though, it doesn't stick out too far. I wrapped a 3rd of the cardboard with yellow yarn. I then took two long pieces of a lighter shade of yellow yarn, and a long strip of tulle, and braided them together, then wrapped it decoratively. The flowery part is just made of circles of felt and tulle that I cut at 2" then folded/scrunched and glued on with hot glue.

Assorted Cards Gift Box

Hey everyone!

Every year between Christmas and New Years my dad's side of the family gets together for a weekend. We always have a Scrooge's Christmas gift exchange (also known to some as Yankee Swap) and this was the gift I put in this past year year. An assortment of handmade cards. Some of them you have seen before but others I made just for the set.

Simple Birthday Card

Hey everyone!

Here is a simple birthday card I threw together for a last minute order a few weeks ago. This is my favourite colour combination right now: mint green and red. Love it.

Embossed Mother's Day Card

Hey everyone!

So this card is for a few blog challenges. Mary's Cricut Cardz Challenge over at Cardz TV and also Fantabulous Cricut, both have a mother's day card challenge this week and over at Sprinkled With Glitter, the challenge is create ANY type of project using ANY type of embossing. This is my first time trying out a Sprinkled With Glitter challenge so it should be fun.

I have the tools to both heat embossing and dry embossing, but I really love how heat embossing looks. I really don't do it often enough. I tried stamping the flourish in several different positions but in the end this was definitely my favourite take.

Flower Cutout Card

Hey everyone!

I had a particularly fun time making this card for this week's Less is More colour challenge. Unfortunately I missed the deadline as I didn't realize that the blog was run from across the pond! I thought I'd post it anyway. I've told you before how much I love colour challenges but the whole idea of the Less is More challenges is so unique and very inspiring. Cards don't have to be extravagant to be beautiful and it's always a nice refresher to take it down a notch. I usually have the problem "I feel like something's missing" or "it needs more." Maybe if I focus more on these challenges I'll learn to see empty space as an element itself and not something that needs to be filled or covered up.

Challenge: Yellow

I always enjoy making cutout cards and this one in particular like I said, was a lot of fun. Enjoy!
